Solid cast iron candle holder for four candles
In Norse mythology means Heima Home or world, but Heima is also the name of the new candlestick from Normann Copenhagen .
Heima is a four-armed cast iron candleholder designed by Francis Cayouette with a minimalist, Nordic design.
In his interpretation of the classic candlestick, the French Canadian Francis Cayouette was inspired by the Nordic culture of the open fire and the arts and crafts movement of the fifties, which worked with cast iron.
The result is a candleholder with a recognizable design that pays tribute to craftsmanship and Nordic traditions. The rough, almost cold surface gives the candleholder a Heima character, while the rounded shapes combine to create a modern design.
Fireplace fire as inspiration for the designer
Francis Cayouette himself says: “Handicrafts must have a recognition value and a history. I have always been fascinated by the Nordic tradition of lighting and cosiness through open fireplaces and working on the candleholder was a choice that came naturally. Cast iron is an exciting raw material that has been in use for many years. It is easy to touch and gives the candleholder contours. The candleholder Heima is simple and does not steal the show from anyone, but instead offers space for its actual function, namely the open fire.”
The minimalist candlestick is made of cast iron and was created for cosy get-togethers in a friendly atmosphere. It is handcrafted and can be perfectly integrated into modern as well as classic décor.
For cleaning the Heima Candlestick recommends Normann Copenhagen warm water and a dry cloth. Should unwanted wax residues on Heima place the product on a layer of baking paper in the oven. After five minutes at about 250° C take Heima from the oven and wipe off the remaining wax. Caution: The object will be very hot.
