Ingo Maurer – Fly Candle Fly!

Fly Candle Fly by Ingo Maurer is a pendulum lamp with a special candle. The reduced design places the candle and its gentle light in the foreground. Fly Candle Fly is particularly impressive in the group.

The design of Fly Candle Fly comes from Georg Baldele and his team. The light is made of a special wax candle with a suspension cable and a drip catcher.

The candle consists of 95% paraffin. The burning time of the candle is about 15-20 hours. The duration can vary depending on the ambient temperature. For safety, the candle has a burning stop approx. 4 -5 cm before the end of the candle. At this point, it automatically stops burning.

Since Fly Candle Fly is a design with a burning candle, the following important notes must be observed: The wick must be shortened regularly. This extends the burning time and prevents smoke development. Make sure that the drip tray always hangs horizontally. If necessary, remove wax when the candle is cleared.

Even with proper handling, however, it can not be ruled out that wax (for example with drafts) drips down from the candle or drip catcher. Never let the candle burn unattended. The candle should also be mounted on the reach of children and animals.
